- zeynel1 16y agoYes, why not? One reason may be prestige. As he explains in the paragraph "publish or perish" he would hire an applicant who published 1 article in Nature or Science as opposed to an applicant who has 100 papers in the arxiv but nothing published in the "prestigious" journals. It is interesting that he does not claim to read the articles and evaluate their merits on content; academia is all about prestige.
