There are two existing ways to pay for MDN, that are so well hidden that I only just found out about them:
- Sponsor for $ a month: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/payments/ https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/payments/
- Buy Merch: https://shop.spreadshirt.com/mdn-store/ https://shop.spreadshirt.com/mdn-store/
- rochak 6y agoI’ll get some merch. Thanks!
- freshqueeze 6y agoI bet these pay for an exec's Tesla.
- sebazzz 6y agoThat is also true for any non-profit you donate for. The Cancer non-profit, the Xyz decease non-profit. That is not strange. Non-profits require good leadership - and that comes with a salary.
- JaggedJax 6y agoDespite all the people in this thread saying they would happily donate directly to MDN, no one has responded here noticing that the donation page doesn't work.
- gvjddbnvdrbv 6y agoThere's a discussion up the page.
- kinlan 6y agoAnd also implementors of the web specs and APIs (browsers and others) imo should fund it more effectively (disclosure, I lead Chrome Developer Relations).
