My point was regarding the following: - usually the first person to screen or introduce you won't be a developer or perhaps not even technical, so you've put yourself out of the running early on. I can query it, but many who might be in a position to put you forward might not. If you want to do that though then fair enough, that's your choice. - reflecting on my current situation where I'm busier than normal right now and I want an easy run on non-development tasks ;)
