I mostly use Windows. Most software written after 2005 just works.
Not everything, e.g. I have a flatbed scanner in attic which requires me to fire a WinXP virtual machine (I use it couple times a year), because there’s no drivers for Win10. Many low-level OS-related utilities are broken as well.
However, majority of software works. For lulz, I once to tried to run a binary of pinball from Windows NT4, worked fine on modern Win10.
