There seems to be this version of “done is better than perfect” thinking where people think that aiming for quality in any form will get in the way of getting things done. Where this gets especially pathological is when people assume that the best way to get things done is by explicitly decreasing quality, the underlying flawed assumption being that decreasing quality can be directly traded for a shorter schedule.
