Why is anyone still ordering this plane? Are there no other options? Speaking as an uninformed civilian, when I step onto a big passenger plane, it kinda looks like all the other big passenger planes I've been on. What feature could possibly offset the risk of the known bugs?
- sesuximo 6y agoThe max was designed to be cheap to buy/maintain/Train pilots especially for existing 737 fleets
- rvnx 6y agoThere is a queue (7 or 8 years) to order a plane. Both for Airbus and Boeing. So people who ordered Boeing are stuck with it now. If you order another plane type, you end up at the back of the queue.
- sugarkjube 6y agoBoeing hasn't sold that many since the problems. No details of the sale were made public. For all we know, Enter Air got them for free as compensation for the losses they had with their aircraft being grounded.
- cameldrv 6y agoThe A320 production line is booked out years in advance. The other option is the C919, but that is an unproven aircraft from an unproven manufacturer, and it hasn't yet entered full production. Despite the faults of the 737MAX, the 737 is the most popular commercial aircraft in the world, and the MCAS problem appears fixable.
