Odd - my two apps have identical .rvmrc files (both using the same interpreter and gemset). Even odder, the first app is now working, and I'm completely not sure why.
- jarin 16y agoIf you haven't already, open Console.app, show the log list and there's a set of Pow logs in there. It might help out.
- msbarnett 16y agoIt turned out my issue was being caused because I was running an older version of rvm. Updating fixed it.
- jarin 16y agoIncidentally, RVM is another software package with a curl-based install :) $ bash < <( curl http://rvm.beginrescueend.com/releases/rvm-install-head http://rvm.beginrescueend.com/releases/rvm-install-head )
- telemachos 16y agoAnd npm is another popular one. I'm not sure if the multiple examples helps your case or tptacek's though. (That is, we all seem to be getting more and more comfortable with this style of installation.)
- jarin 16y agotptacek has a good point that you shouldn't just trust any old curl-based install, but I think that really applies to any install of any kind. I think you have to consider the source of any software package, it's not something specific to this particular method.
