YouTube now have ADs that plays sound without an user interaction

As a developer, you have to wait before the user does an action on your page / web app before you can play a sound, but not YouTube, not this freaking AD.
As soon as I enter YouTube today to publish a video I was greeted with a full sound blasting AD. Not cool Google, not cool.
- tgflynn 6y agoYes, I just saw this myself about an hour ago with some other ad.
- sergiotapia 6y agoI hope they add this: SAY SOMETHING WHAAAT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DO6taeNZE5o https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DO6taeNZE5o
- atum47 6y agodude, back in the blog days I made myself as a south park character and put it on my layout as a mascot (I made this with flash). when you clicked it, it cursed. this video brought back memories, I loved the old web.
- Franciscouzo 6y agoStop using chrome, they obviously whitelisted themselves to auto-play.
- atum47 6y agooh no, chrome is awesome. I just saw a Google video about using fetch to get and send streams. Chrome seems to be the first browser that implemented that yet. I just think it's not ok to auto play audio
- exlurker 6y agoThen use Chromium without goggle: https://github.com/Eloston/ungoogled-chromium https://github.com/Eloston/ungoogled-chromium Stop the madness
- atum47 6y agoyeah, I did that for a while, but it was never the same, it had some problems I can't remember right now. I've been using an old stable version of debian for a while, maybe it's was a compatibility issue
- scott31 6y agoDid you just share a screenshot to prove youtube is playing audio?
