I often rewrite solutions to identical problems in different ways. It helps me get a good handle on what works in different situations, and how solutions differ in general. I recently rewrote a JS problem I did in an interview in a much more functional style, a style that just visually appealed to me, and I feel like I learned a thing or two from it, or at least reinforced some things I already knew.
