It would evaporate leaving salt.
- zelly 6y agoDon't stop, just keep flooding it. Aren't the ice caps melting? Eventually an ecosystem will form.
- redisman 6y agoLike the Dead Sea?
- alicemaz 6y agocould call it the death sea
- anigbrowl 6y agoThere's an ecosystem there now, people just don't want to learn about it.
- refurb 6y agoOk, a better ecosystem?
- AlotOfReading 6y agoLike the Salton Sea not too far away? F that, give me the clean desert over that mud pit.
- refurb 6y agoSalton Sea is indeed gross, but it used to be a lake, but then drained, so I understand it's a mix of farm runoff and dead fish. My comment was in jest anyways, nothing wrong with the Death Valley ecosystem.
- aww_dang 6y agoOne of the proposals for flooding the Salton Sea includes using the local geothermal power for desalination and irrigation.
- kethinov 6y agoContinuous inflow isn't the problem, outflow is the problem. With no outflow aside from evaporation, it would just get continuously saltier.
