Gammo – A pure-Ruby HTML5-compliant parser
- kunpei 6y agoI would love to introduce a new HTML parser, Gammo, it provides a HTML parser, and XPath support for traversing the DOM tree built by Gammo, without any external dependencies.
- svnpenn 6y ago> CSS Selector TBD. https://github.com/namusyaka/gammo#css-selector https://github.com/namusyaka/gammo#css-selector
- kunpei 6y agoSorry for the inconvenience. But as I wrote below, I'm going to implement it in the future.
- nurettin 6y agoBeing pure ruby helps. Building nokogiri somehow got harder as building binary packages continuously break between ruby versions and not many ruby gems are maintained in an intraday fashion anymore.
- arkadiyt 6y agoAlso the fact that libxml2 has had frequent vulnerabilities over the years.
- nurettin 6y agoyes, to be fair they patch vulnerabilities in their vendored version of libraries https://github.com/sparklemotion/nokogiri/issues/1992 https://github.com/sparklemotion/nokogiri/issues/1992
- kunpei 6y agoThanks for taking a look! It's why I had wanted to create this gem.
- dchuk 6y agoCan this replace nokogiri?
- loktarogar 6y agoNot fully, not yet. Still missing the css selector, for one.
- kunpei 6y agoYes. but I plan to implement the css selector feature without any dependencies and native extension in the future.
