I want to be open-minded to people I’ve known throughout college, etc. that are lefty activists but the stuff they share about “beautiful” fat people/“medicalizing” is frankly deranged. I get that recognizing humanity and compassion for everyone is important. But what more evidence do we need of the outcomes wrt covid where Japan has a 4% obesity rate vs US 40%. We’re talking an order of magnitude disparity.
