At DIA (Denver International Airport) they have both the scanners set up, as well as standard metal detectors. Going through the metal detectors doesn't require a pat down even-though they are supposedly less safe than the scanners. Yet when you are forced to be in a line with a scanner and you opt-out you can't just go through the metal detector instead, but have to be patted down. That doesn't make any sense to me what so ever. AT ALL.
