I actually have a better lifestyle and vacations here, eg: I spent 2 weeks skiing this year in mid Jan in brekenridge, CO, something I couldn't even dream of in my home country. So, yea if you are already from a rich country where a software dev can afford 2 brand new cars then it doesn't make sense. correct. "BS of American life" is a matter of perspective, to me america is heaven on earth.
