- passerby1 6y agoWeird section indeed. A lie mixed with truth is the worst ever.
- vezycash 6y agoMaybe they don't know of fdm. Found out about xdm last week, time it's open source too
- anta40 6y agoFDM = Free Download Manager? I've been using it since undergraduate days (2007 or 2008). Unfortunately, v5 and newer isn't open source anymore. https://sourceforge.net/p/freedownload/code/HEAD/tree/ https://sourceforge.net/p/freedownload/code/HEAD/tree/
- vezycash 6y agoOkay. There's also a download manager called xdm. Wasn't a typo.. https://subhra74.github.io/xdm/ https://subhra74.github.io/xdm/
- bscphil 6y agoIronically, it's not even open source, as another commenter revealed. It has a list of "acceptable uses" appended as something like GPL exception / addendum to the license page. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=24169301 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=24169301 The comparison with aria2 is absurd as well. You can't compare the relative speed of two programs by running them at the same time! I would steer clear of this program.
