I've biked a lot, and been into different styles of bikes over the years.
Hands down, the best and friendliest service I ever received was buying my first road bike from Sports Basement (in Sunnyvale).
Buying my xtracycle from a hip Berkeley independent bike store was probably the worst service.
- fortran77 6y agoAnd all the bike snobs (that make normal people like me hate bicyclists) can't click the downvote button fast enough on your accurate observation.
- acwan93 6y agoDon't know why you're being downvoted, but I share the same sentiment with you. My first road bike was also from a Sports Basement and got nothing but top-notch service. They certainly got my repeat business. Bike snobs are probably like coffee snobs, where the bigger the store, the more it's vilified.
