A good friend of mine is an Uber drive, and he travels to other cities cities on weekends to capture surge pricing for clubs, shows, etc. I think he clears about that, but it's also bartender-timeframe work, and some of that goes back into his car and gas. Not everyone clears this, but the people trying to make it a proper "career" can---at the cost of other things.
