Have the opposing candidates even promised to do anything about it? These are chronic issues that not even an Obama administration along with a majority in Congress did anything to cure these issues. What makes you think either party will do anything to prevent its demise?

I think the choice is between one party who is actively seeking the demise and one party who, probably, at least won't do that...

  Its not the good guys vs the bad guys here. Both parties are inundated with corrupt actors.
