- valuearb 6y agoAs an iOS developer, it’s an easy argument to make because it’s true.
- asutekku 6y agoHow exactly Apple is a monopoly? Just because they have a “monopoly” on stores on their own platform?
- partiallypro 6y agoThey make up most store revenue. Android might have more installs, but Apple makes way more from their store. They are effectively a monopoly, if not a duopoly. But Android allows secondary stores...Apple doesn't.
- asutekku 6y agoThat might’ve been the case couple of years ago, but now the ratio is about 55:45 in favor of apple and can vary from app to app. Yes, they have a slight upper hand but still not a monopoly.
- infinityplus1 6y agoIf I don't make my app available on Apple's store then I lose out on a huge % of people who use iOS devices as their only general computing device. They can't simply switch to Android as they are locked-in into the iOS ecosystem (For example, they can't use iMessage on Android). Apple is effectively controlling the market access and harming competitors.

- zackkitzmiller 6y agoXfinity (in my neighborhood) is a monopoly. I literally cannot get any other fast internet service at my apartment. I can, however, chose to buy a different phone.
- sebmellen 6y agoAny other fast Internet service, or any other Internet service?
- duiker101 6y agoYou can also choose to buy a different apartment.
- sangnoir 6y agoWhy not choose a new home in a location served by your preferred internet provider? What's that - you like your home, but not the service it comes with? /s
