The implication - that Jews who were in Eastern Europe are not "real" Jews - is a wonderful example of anti-semitism. You only forgot to add on "Go back to Poland!"
Edit: Also, "the persecution complex" - as if the single greatest attempt at genocide in modern history was NOT targeted at Jews.
- helge9210 6y agoWhat about artificial famine in Ukraine 1932?
- shliachtx 6y agoI stand corrected. One of the two greatest attempt at genocide. That has no bearing on my argument, however.
- onyva 6y agoThere are really no new claims here. 1. https://www.nature.com/articles/ncomms3543 https://www.nature.com/articles/ncomms3543 2. The Ben Gurion’s and following administrations in Israel tried to include the experience of all Jews in the diaspora under the same sense of persecution. That was not the case for Jews in North Africa and Asia.
- shliachtx 6y agoSo you are doubling down on your conpiracy-minded and anti-semitic claim that Ashkenazi Jews are not real. I am going to link a Reddit comment I found with a very quick Google search that addresses it and call it a night. I hope you are able to remove the hate from your eyes. https://www.reddit.com/r/23andme/comments/8g1jhd/so_which_people_are_related_to_a_near_100/dy8cwr8/ https://www.reddit.com/r/23andme/comments/8g1jhd/so_which_pe... Edit: One more thing. Please point me to the thriving North African and Middle Eastern Jewish communities that you describe. They do not exist because they were persecuted. Some countries less so, but to claim that there was no persecution is a complete distortion of history. Good night!
- onyva 6y agoJews in North Africa and Asia lived in coexistence in their communities for hundred of years. As dhimis for sure, but nothing like what the grand parents of Nethanyhu lived in Poland. There’s nothing to compare. Also Jews of Western and central Europe, which were then mostly Sephardi(at least in Western Europe), like Hertzl, were emancipated and definitely did not experience 1st hand what was happening in Eastern Europe. Hertzl was not even aware of Pinsker for instance. It was only following the holocaust that the post Hertzl Zionist movement realized they need to more bodies. zionist activists were sent across North Africa and Asian communities to agitate, breaking up families in the process while trying to force the young and healthy to immigrate to Palestine. I did my homework. Maybe you should too?
