Show HN: 2,469 Remote Companies Hiring in 2020
- raunometsa 6y agoHello HN! I've been working on a website about remote work for almost 2 years now and I feel I'm still searching for my angle. Maybe you can give me some advice? 1. I know there are a lot of remote job boards out there and I see no point in building just another one. 2. It needs to be something different! I first started with a list of remote companies: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=19444960 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=19444960 3. But then built a lot of stuff. If you're curious, I list almost all my features here: https://remotehub.io/sale https://remotehub.io/sale 4. And now I'm thinking about putting the focus again on the companies – started to surface teams on the front page every day. 5. I think I have some interesting data about companies, like their remote team locations, benefits they offer, remote work tools they use etc that can be useful when looking for a team to join. What do you think, how can I make it useful for you? Are you interested in discovering remote companies like this? – Rauno (raumet.com)
- ArtWomb 6y agoThis is also coincidentally a good list of quality software companies. I recognize a few that I use from the list: Ghost, Shogun ;) Focus on the skills, rolls. Teams that don't just work remote, but "async". Fractional work. App development that can be sub-contracted to a dev shop, in lieu of full time hire. Shops can specialize in particular categories such as "next-gen dart / flutter"
- raunometsa 6y agoCool, thanks!
- CloudNetworking 6y agoI see lots of ways to filter out companies, but no way to see jobs for all of them - or at least it does not seem obvious to me.
- raunometsa 6y agoSimilarily to /remote-companies page there's /remote-jobs page that has the same filters: https://remotehub.io/remote-jobs https://remotehub.io/remote-jobs You can find "Remote jobs" link from the top menu, but maybe it's not very visible. Would you rather see jobs on the front page instead of companies?
- CloudNetworking 6y agooh nice, I completely missed! Yeah, I would prefer that personally, but maybe it's just me haha.
- corytheboyd 6y agoFWIW I had the exact same experience, but I see OP replied with exactly what I was looking for :)
- scott31 6y agoYou should just remove the annoying link at the bottom right which follows you around even if you scroll. There is already an about page in your site, thus I can easily find who you are if I care.
- raunometsa 6y agoIt annoys me too! Removed.
