I recommend everyone who wants to type fast to at least give something like this a try. When I was in high school, I spray-painted all of my keycaps black. I took the keyboard outside, put down some newspaper, and sprayed. One thing I didn't consider was that the keys would all become sticky, so a fair amount of action was required to get the keys to press down. I type pretty consistently at ~100wpm today.
