All 9th graders at my school were required to take typing. I asked to be excused but this was refused. On the first day of class I flipped to the end of the lesson book and did the assignments. The teacher, to her everlasting credit, told the department head that the class was a waste of my time and I was allowed to transfer to AP computer science. Which was also a waste of time (on account of the curriculum, not due to my ability.) It really annoyed my sister to be in class with her younger brother.
