I like this, but there's a lot of white space .. perhaps too much. Maybe a more compact view would be useful? Like others have said, the grey is too pale. ED

Like others have said, the grey is too pale.
EDIT: It would be nice if the layout made use of columns .. this could provide innovative use of wide-screen resolutions.

Seemed like normal threading until I noticed the reply was older than the grandparent.
- tuhin 16y agoSurprised since the only change I did was add padding to the top and bottom. Wonder how that changed threading. I am not using one line of JS for this. Any suggestions as to what could be causing this?
- btipling 16y agoI disagree. I like the whitespace.
- gumbo 16y agoI also agree. There is too much white color, the readability is not very good. I was exited about it as i already mentionned here that there is room for improvment of HN. i'll uninstall it now. looking forward to try a corrected version.
- kami8844 16y agoColornazi in me has to point out that white isn't really a color, otherwise I agree.

- fooandbarify 16y agoI hate to be "that guy" but are downvotes really warranted here? Wouldn't it be sufficient to provide a correction?
- wmeredith 16y agoI'm pretty sure it was the arguably-wrong nitpick combined with crappy grammar that sunk it. I try not to down-vote just for differing opinions from my own, although my emotions do get the better of me occasionally. However, if I see bad grammar it's just automatic.
- kami8844 16y agoI'm a foreigner so that maybe explains why I can't relate to what you're saying, but does omitting the 'the' at the beginning of my phrase really make it bad grammar? I imagine it colloquial speech.

- Sodaware 16y agoTry the Hacker News UX extension for Chrome (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/chngbdmhgakoomomnnhfapkpbalpmhid https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/chngbdmhgakoomomnn...). It adds dual column support and works really well with Georgify.
- eagsalazar 16y agoboth plugins actually work surprisingly well together. Good combo and mitigates a lot of the whitespace issue.
