I was working on a secure messenger app because I had an affair and she was afraid he'd find out if we messaged each other. Idea was that every message was encrypted with a specific password before it was shared via a server infrastructure. The message once attempted to decrypt with with the password would destroy itself after a successful or unsuccessful decryption attempt. I had a working web prototype using JSCrypt for the cryptography part when the affair ended. Didn't continue with the project. Worth noting that this was years before E2E encrypted messengers became mainstream.
