  ...only because they spent less time commuting >All the commuters set off at the same time, and the cyclists were by far the fastest, arriving in 11 minutes, half the time of bus and car travellers. Buses and cars still do better when you're measuring pollution per minute

    sounds like a win-win-win. Less time traveling, less pollution, better exercise.

    That Guardian article also mentions "green routes", taking side streets or pedestrian / bicycle walkways. There's a lot less pollution in those areas than on a busy road.
