How do you avoid the Bike-Shedding problem?
Would forcing the proposer to quantify costs and benefits help?
- pas 6y agoHow does the IETF manages it? It operates by seeking broad consensus. That might work. Also getting a good compromise done should be in the interest of everyone. Plus there could be iterations every few years. (Like there's with JS/ECMAScript via TC39.)
