You need to ensure they are dried well after use, otherwise they dull far quicker. I have no idea why, so perhaps someone can test my hypothesis?

The idea is basically that all corrosion is generally limited to small surface patches (in the presence of good maintenance) however, the very edge of the blade has a very high surface area to mass ratio, so corrosion affects the edge more than anywhere else. I'd expect any razor that is designed to be around water to be of stainless steel or some other corrosion resistant material, but I suppose it's possible that corrosion happens on the edge anyhow (albeit at a much slower rate).
