I wanted to comment this top level: I switched from iPhone 6 to Redmi Note 8 Pro recently (early 2020) as I lost my iPhone. I have been an Android user before the iPhone. I really can not overstate how happy I was with how long Apple supported that device - I used it from end of 2014 to early 2020 - yep! Every single day, new iOS supported till late 2019. Google - well they are famous for killing things.

same, I hold unto my se until I could, waiting for another midrange iPhone to materialize that was not completely gimped like the C line, I really enjoyed all the years with it. eventually switched to a mi a2, which is not as good, but workable replacement. and hey, it cost a fourth of an iphone, so I can have extremely short replace cycle to work around the chronic android updates issues.
