  Not really. You can’t buy a Pixel 1 and haven’t been able to for years. Nor can you buy an iPhone 3GS.

  This is completely different. You can still use the phone and it will still be getting updates as the guaranteed when you bought the phone. This has basically no effect for existing owners.
