I used to support a web-based enterprise system used worldwide. After the business management escalated a complaint that the system was slow, I technically showed that them all the bells and whistles, doohickeys, widgets, etc that they insisted on as features, took up nearly 10MB to download, while Amazon, in comparison, took less than 1MB. This was taken under advisement and then we got new feature requests the next day that would just add more crap to the download size. But they never complained again.
