Worth noting that Beirut has already been suffering from hyperinflation and widespread poverty, and the port where this massive explosion took place is their "grain elevator", i.e. 80% of the country's grain comes through it. We might be looking for a real humanitarian crisis...
- thephyber 6y agoAlso worth noting that Lebanon took on more Syrian refugees per capita than any other country -- I remember reading that it was something like 2 refugees for every 5 residents.
