Users blocking telemetry using .../etc/hosts are presumably power users, and, as such, are informed about this new twist - and this twist may even inform them that Microsoft uses IPs as a fallback in case DNS resolution fails. The outcome of this stunt may thus be worse than before it. So what is to be gained from this?
