Technically it could be possible to just add Fitbit device support to apps like Gadgetbridge (https://gadgetbridge.org/ https://gadgetbridge.org/), bypassing the biggest violation of privacy that are the current OEM companion apps, and thus be able to keep using the hardware you paid money for.
