Every time I walk through downtown I shake my head in confusion. Every other shop seems closed, but the stock market is at an all-time high.
Clearly selling products and services to consumers is passé, and financialization is the future.
- AnimalMuppet 6y agoClearly using very expensive real estate to sell products and services to consumers is passe. That's not quite the same thing.
- chrisseaton 6y agoPeople are buying mostly the same stuff, just not in-person from downtown shops.
- deepakhj 6y agoToo many cars and parking downtown. If we had outdoor seating with European style restaurants, I think we could safely distance and downtown would be booming. Check out Chestnut st. Almost every restaurant has a parklet now and it's packed.
