  Not only should they do that, but the argument that it would only pay for 1 week of the disaster is in bad faith; it wouldn't work like that at all, the arguer knows it. This is one of their snipe-hunts. The truth is that the looming depression could definitely and certainly be fixed by dismantling the oligarchy that has led to this state of affairs: getting people into the homes that have been used as vehicles for wealth preservation solves 1/2 the problems and corrects wage growth.
