We have a pair of swifts that return every year and nest under the roof tiles of our house deep in a forest. I can totally sympathize with this author's awe towards the tiny marvels. It feels like a privilege and a blessing to have them come visit, arriving from some southern African country every year. Happy to have learned something new too: vesper flights.
