Err are you neglecting beef?

  At least where I am (Germany), the cheapest beef is from further away and the local beef is more expensive.

    Sure, but presumably they’re both more expensive than fresh produce, which has a fraction of the carbon emissions. Furthermore I really doubt that the carbon emissions of transportation dominate the carbon output of beef production, so the local vs imported beef cost seems irrelevant to the overall correlation of price and carbon output.
