Every article I read about ARM64 doesn’t really have any technical, concrete reason to love it. I think we’re simply experiencing a sort of euphoria that comes with knowing there’s competition in the space and big players are mixing things up. There’s joy in anticipation.
- _ph_ 6y agoThe one big reason is, that ARM64 is a reasonably clean 64bit RISC CPU. That doesn't have so much historical baggage to carry as the x86-based CPUs. Which were never loved, at no time in their life cycle. But due to how history went, managed to kill all the nice RISC designs that once were around. SPARC, Alpha, MIPS, just to name some.
