It is more complicated than it seems. Many businesses depend so much on Facebook Advertising that they would have to shut down. I remember an article on the front page on HN talking about some businesses being idle when Facebook was down. Personally it would definitely improve my life if Facebook went down and people around me stopped scrolling their Instagram.
