Ask HN: Is there a better way to manage deployment of web apps?

I've worked on two major web applications (site+service) and it seems like every company develops their own infrastructure to handle the complex deployment process (code migration, building, pushing to servers, updating routing, data migrate, etc). There are "configuration management tools" like Puppet which run on-premisses, but is there a cloud-based service? I think AWS Beanstalk is the closest but it is still far from what I invision. Please let me know if there is anything like that out there or what you use in your company?
