Brooks further cites a study claiming that there is "no correlation between accumulating large wealth and high IQ." Both claims are wrong. The result Brooks cites is after "controlling" for education and income. Excuse me, but finding no correlation between wealth and IQ after "controlling" for income isn't exactly a surprising finding. As a matter of fact I'd say that usually accumulating large wealth is a direct function of income.
