- john-shaffer 6y agoAlthough I think UBI might be a good idea, I feel like this talk about "lifting above the poverty line" is meaningless in practice. The poverty line is constantly moving. If everyone got a $10,000 check, the poverty line would be quickly redefined, and not many people "lifted above it" would actually stay above it.
