Gasoline is now 40 dollars a litre.
- glogla 6y agoIs that a fair price based on how it damages the planet? If so, why not?
- Jetroid 6y agoGasoline is now 40 dollars a barrel.
- jcranmer 6y agoCrude oil is 40 dollars a barrel. Gasoline is about 80-90 dollars a barrel (= 42 gallons).
- gruez 6y agoIs this a reasonable estimate, or are you trying to dismiss something by hyperbole?
- burke 6y agoNope. 1L of gasoline produces 2.3kg of CO2 (3ish if you include production and transportation). That’s about 5.4 US cents in high quality offsets (CAD$24/ton on less.ca), or US$3/L for active carbon capture with today’s experimental technology (based on $1000/ton, can’t remember where I got this number or which currency it’s in, and it’s a year old)
