It's obviously a question of preference but Linux trackpad drivers (eg libinput) are less capable than Apple's in terms of gesture/palm detection etc.

It's obviously a question of preference but Linux trackpad drivers (eg libinput) are less capable than Apple's in terms of gesture/palm detection etc.
- AsyncAwait 6y agoI haven't noticed much of a difference when using a Mac trackpad, but I am not much of a gesture user, so that's probably why. Linux UIs tend to encourage much heavier use of keyboard shortcuts, which in some sense makes up for it.
- seba_dos1 6y agoDrivers are (usually) fine these days, it's the higher parts of the stack (toolkits, DEs and applications) that have neglected their touchpad driver support on GNU/Linux.
