I find it interesting how daily new deaths in Sweden seem to have levelled off to a low level. Of course there could be a second wave in the fall, but I think Sweden might have reached the low herd immunity threshold.

- Marsymars 6y agoWhat I'm wondering is why it seems to have levelled off despite case numbers being wildly different in different regions of Sweden. Are people's habits different, leading to very different thresholds for herd immunity? Are reported case numbers off? Something else?
- usaar333 6y agoIn lower density areas, you'll have fewer contacts, so "herd immunity" numbers (with some interventions) are lower
- jschwartzi 6y agoThey’ve leveled off here in Washington too, despite our daily new cases being double what they were before we locked down. I wonder why that is?
- pgodzin 6y agoWell cases is the wrong measure as it's only identified cases -- we don't know how many new cases Washington was actually seeing before the lockdown
