99% of the people here would gladly work at Google. But what's the next best thing .. downplay the company you couldn't get into :) Carry on !
- pirocks 6y agoI wouldn't gladly work for Google. I hope I'm not in the 1%.
- jjcon 6y agoGoogle isn’t trying new things they are re-releasing the same apps with less functionality while simultaneously killing off user bases. This isn’t some esoteric engineer criticism - it’s mainstream at this point.
- StreamBright 6y agoI was trying to get into Google 3 times in my life. Results so far: - some (all? one?) interview failure (no feedback), rejection - interviews passed, no degree in CS (which was known to them prior of the interviews), rejection - interviews passed, this time missing CS degree is not a problem, no cultural fit, rejection I think I am done. You are assumption is without merit though.
- mav3rick 6y agoThere are many many people without CS degrees at Google.

- discobot 6y agoI wonder how 100K of engineers made it in
- ankashT 6y agoHaving seen the level of political indoctrination of some Googlers, who believe that everyone who is not colored is living in a permanent state of sin, yes, I would not want to join that Scientology knockoff. Notably none of these gives away 90% of their salary to ease their "guilt".
- semi_good 6y agoMore like 90%. But the bottom 90%. The kind with textbook knowledge who fail at shipping competitive technology products.
- mav3rick 6y agoLol okay ? Literally everything you touched on the Internet today probably used Google technology. Let me see your amazing startup or business.
- semi_good 6y agoNot sure what you mean, we run everything on AWS, which is superior in every way to the competing offerings.
- mav3rick 6y agoYes, I'm sure you haven't heard of Kubernetes. Wonder which company invented that.
- semi_good 6y agoAgain no, we use ECS, a managed container orchestration solution with far less operational overhead than K8s. Try again.
- semi_good 6y agoThis conversation proves that you are clueless and arrogant (quote "everything you touched on the Internet today probably used Google technology" smh) and nobody good wants to work with you and that is why you cant build anything competitive in-house.
- mav3rick 6y agoLol "nobody good wants to work with you". Keep telling yourself that. Done engaging here.
