Perhaps its impossible to do this, with brains such as ours. Nevertheless, the toxic result we get when we do try to do it is incredibly engaging, which is all that is required for the brokers to make money. This is not very different from a drug addiction. In both cases the victims are compelled, despite themselves, to engage in something that is harmful while the drug-dealers have absolutely no incentive to reduce or eliminate the damage.
