The narrative around this whole situation is completely ridiculous. These people were out there besieging the Federal courthouse for weeks before the federal agents started seriously responding. Night after night, these people set off commercial grade fireworks, start fires, and use weapons like bats, hammers and slingshots with ball bearings. They started a big fire last night before the Feds launched tear gas, and the mayor said, "I didn't see anything to warrant this response." It's totally absurd. The national media and local politicians are running cover for a band of lunatics.
