My own pure speculation: imagining they shut the service off so no new data comes up and are aiming for an RPO of last night or some time earlier on the 22nd. Two days to do full restoration of services and global user data, meanwhile people trying to convincingly patch vulnerabilities. Say a prayer for the IT people trying to fix this.
